AT THE SESSION
The Tradition Bearer Session provides a gathering point for those singers and listeners alike who love traditional song.
The emphasis is on unaccompanied un-amplified singing, participation rather than performance; the way that many of the songs of the oral tradition have been passed down over centuries.
Everyone is encouraged to participate and
the floor is open to anyone who wants to sing.
The Tradition Bearer Session aims to keep alive the rich heritage of traditional songs; chorus songs, ballads, waulking songs, shanties etc; Contemporary songs, written
and sung in traditional style are also welcome.
